A description of the T3 hardware and OS environments

The Tier-3 cluster at UNL is a joint project between Kansas State and University of Nebraska -- Lincoln. The cluster is called t3.unl.edu and is comprised of the following:

Vanilla Scientific Linux 4.5 (Linux 2.6.9-55.ELsmp) is installed on the following:

1 Dell Poweredge server headnode running dual AMD Opteron 2216's (4 core) and 4 GB of ram
4 Dell Poweredge server workernodes running dual AMD Opteron 2216 (4 core) and 4 GB of ram
4 SUN servers with a single AMD Opteron 270 (currently offline)

There are two fileservers setup on the cluster right now.  One fileserver for UNL folks, the other for KSU folks.  Due to firmware issues the KSU fileserver is split into 3 2TB partitions.

Home areas for UNL users are on the /mnt/unl/home partition.

Home areas for KSU users are on one of the /mnt/ksu/home partitions.

KSU will have 2 2TB partitions to do with as they will.

Authentication is solely by FNAL.GOV kerberos tickets.
